The seller: Founded in 2000, WANIMO (www.wanimo.com) is leader on the online sale of domestic animal products and services industry.

With more than 5 550 products for animals (food, hygiene, health, home and accessories), the company realized more than €20M revenue. By offering personalized advice, advice records, practical information and so on, the enterprise benefits from a winning combination: Information & Business. By this way, the website collects 1 million visitors and 13 million page views per month which makes him the unquestionable expert of animal e-commerce in France.

The Buyer:
DOMES PHARMA, an independent family group, has been active since 1976 in the pharmaceutical industry with more than 330 employees on 8 sites in France and Switzerland. Its activity, from R&D to retail, represents €62M consolidated revenue. The group, as a combination of 5 subsidiaries, owns well-known brands which are leaders on the market, such as: Laboratoires Auvex (Biocanina), Actipharm, Europhartech, Laboratoire TVM.


Transaction

The three investment funds ALVEN CAPITAL, ENTREPRENEUR VENTURE and ALTO and the Wanimo.com founder-director were willing to sell their respective shares.

 

In March 2012, DOMES PHARMA group bought WANIMO to pursue its development and strengthen its leadership on the Premium sector in France.

SOCIETEX CORPORATE FINANCE guided WANIMO during its hand over, helped the investment funds realizing a comfortable exit and organized the management transition to DOMES PHARMA group. Managing this mission required a dedicated team from IMAP network which had interested many international potential buyers such as specialized retailers, e-commerce, the media, but also in the pet food industry, the pharmaceutical industry as well as the veterinary care sector.
